Quartzite
Quartzite is made when quartz sandstone is exposed to high temperatures and pressure causing the sand grains and silica cement to re-crystalise.The result is a network of interlocking quartz grains of incredible strength. Quartzite is bold and loaded with character, and comes in a range of unique colours with striking veining. If you want the beauty of marble in something more robust, quartzite is your stone.
The beauty and strength of this natural stone (it is the hardest of the three) make it a great countertop material for kitchens and bathrooms, to cover walls, and as roofing tiles, for flooring and for stair steps. Quartzite gives. you the look of marble but is stronger, UV resistant and lower-maintenance.
